JACKSON OUTFITTERS IS A FAMILY-OWNED AND OPERATED BUSINESS NEAR TELLURIDE, CO!

The Jackson family has been on the Western Slope of Colorado for Generations.  We are a family of horsemen/women. Quality horses and quality horseback riding experiences are a priority for us and we enjoy sharing it with others. Jackson Outfitters will focus on smaller groups (8 riders max) to make your vacation and time with us personal and unforgettable. We want you to be able to relax, enjoy the views, the ride and make great memories you want to repeat year after year.

Our guided horseback rides start out on a beautiful private ranch located on the Uncompaghre Plateau about 45 minutes from Telluride, Ridgway and Ouray Colorado.  We have lived and operated on the Uncompahgre Plateau for 8 years, where we have experienced living among the local wildlife, their diverse habitat, and the vast rugged country in which they live. We will be providing  guided horseback rides with opportunity to see elk, mule deer, turkey, occasionally bear and some of the most incredible views of the surrounding country.  The terrain we ride is a mixture of rolling high desert plateau and deep canyons, scrub oak, ponderosa pine and lodge pole pine cover. Views from the Uncompahgre Plateau includes, the San Juans (Wilson Peak, Lizard Head, Lone Cone, Little Cone), the La Salles, and Last Dollar Pass in the distance surrounding the Mesa.

The rides are easy for any level rider with a minimum age of 5 yrs old (depending on child size and ability to listen to direction). Any ride with youth under the age of 10 yrs old will be a private trip. We do not provide youth saddles but we have saddle horn stirrups and helmets. The rides are approximately 2 hours from start to finish and we ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your trip.
